National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership
Specialist Leadership in SEND
Chadsgrove Teaching School (as part of the Worcestershire Global Leadership Academy) is proud to offer the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) for teaching professionals in special schools or those with significant SEND responsibilities in mainstream schools, who are looking to develop their career. Candidates must be a middle leader with responsibility for leading a team (e.g. a key stage/subject/curriculum leader, SENCO, head of department or pastoral leader).
This programme for current or aspiring middle leaders will be delivered through a blended learning approach incorporating face-to-face days, online resources and collaborative study. The course includes six areas of study: Working in Partnership, Managing Resources and Risk, Strategy and Improvement, Teaching and Curriculum Excellence, Increasing Capacity, Leading with Impact. Our facilitators are outstanding middle or senior leaders who have undergone training specifically for this purpose. Materials are delivered in an engaging and interactive manner, and we develop a cohort identity which enables candidates to support each other’s learning journey.
Launch date (introductory session) 11th January 2018 (1pm - 4pm).
The full-day sessions will be held on 13th March, 17th May & 7th June 2018.

* For schools in Category 5 or 6 Areas, the Department for Education (DfE) will cover full course costs, and all teachers and leaders in these areas are eligible for this funding (provided they have not already studied for the NPQML).
