Early Inclusion

Erasmus+ Project

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities foresees an inclusive education for all. Within this context most European countries have expressed their political will to implement inclusive philosophies and concepts at all levels of policy and services related to  people with disability (The European Union strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth; EU Disability Strategy 2010-2020). However there is a significant need for information, training and resources.

Early-Inclusion is an Erasmus+ Project funded through the European Union aimed at addressing this shortfall. It involves 10 European partners from 7 countries, and the UK is represented by Chadsgrove Teaching School. Our project leads are Bev Cockbill and Jo Egerton.

The preliminary work of this project focused on the development of resources to support Teaching Assistants, and other support workers, in a variety of education and childcare settings. Briefing packs, learning outcomes, inclusion method market, validation questions, competence passport are now publicly available.

A final conference to disseminate the website will be held in Hamburg on Friday 24th November 2017.
