Dyspraxia Assessment Route
This assessment route consists of two stages.
1st stage: this assessment is carried out by a specialist teacher and the purpose is to evaluate motor coordination and visual perceptual skills and to provide targeted recommendations to support learning and development.
Following the motor coordination assessment a written report is provided which provides information on the observations and a summary of findings. Recommendations and onward referral information will also be included.
2nd stage: this assessment will consist of clinical observations by an Occupational Therapist and involve the child working through activities that challenge balance, posture, organisation of body and awareness of body position. The assessment findings will form part of the final diagnostic decision.
Following the assessment a written report will be provided by the Occupational Therapist.
